Thursday, August 27th

Today in my S&G class (that's sport and gender) we had to read two articles and have a class discussion about them. One was titled "Just Do It? Nah, Just Study It!" and the other was titled "The Pros the Pros Would Pay To See". In my opinion, both articles lacked in aspect of entertainment, but they both made up with it with there content; I guess! In the "Just Do It" article I found out many interesting things about my university (BGSU) that I never knew. For example, who knew that in the sport management department we had sport psychology, business, sociologists, and kinesiologists professors amongst our staff. When I heard that I was like cool, now all is needed is a McDonald's in the department and then we would have it all! Another thing I took from this article was how sport is define differently everywhere and how no one really has a correct definition. I feel it is impossible to set a standard definition for sport because it's too many aspects that very from sport to sport to have a standard definition.

I decided to break it up into paragraphs just so you can read it easier and it doesn't look like a word fight on your screen (yes, I do write my own comic material). Now, I found the second article a much easier read ("The Pros the Pros Would Pay To See"). From this article I want to touch on the arrogance of Denver Nuggets Forward Carmelo Anthony. He said and I quote, "I wouldn't pay one thousand dollars to see nobody". I found very disrespectful because thousands of fans each year supports him and pays that type of cash to see him perform on a nightly basis, when many of the fans don't have millions stashed away like him. It's absolutely crazy to me for an superstar athlete says that.

Well, I'm done for the day catch you later blogheads.
